Introduction
A modern soldier should have a global view. This is a critical moment, in which joint operations define the nature of war, and defense technology is upgraded day by day. Military personnel must have adequate skills in order to operate weapons and equipment, and coordinate in the combined operations. Based on these ideas, Army Command Headquarters established Southern Area Language Education Center in the Academy to develop military personnel’s English proficiency in 2003. Later, this center experienced transformations several times and finally it rectified the official name to Center of Continuing Language Education in Nov. 2006. Hence, we were able to utilize the educational resources to improve the overall foreign language skills of army officers and non-commissioned officers to build a modern and professional army.
